And it is not that difficult to start building a simple AI.This book lays out the basic concepts and goes through every step so it is easy to follow. Sure, you can't be a total beginner who knows absolutely nothing at all about programming, but some basic knowledge is enough to follow it.If you have any interest in AI or programming, this book is a good start. It is really a solid guide and I have to recommend it.

Terrible book. Very little content and very little depth. I've read a fair amount of machine learning books and this is by far the worst one.You will learn the definition of an algorithm, basic data structures (queue, stack) and a few takes on search algorithms. The content is similar to what you might spend two lectures on in any "Data Structures & Algorithms" course, and has very little to do with AI specifically. If you want to learn basic algorithms, get a real book on "data structures and algorithms in (insert language)".If you already know the basics of swift and algorithms, this book will make you no better either of the subjects. I think they misspelled the title, it should be "superficial" not "artificial".If you are new to programming and interested in machine learning, I'd recommend the book "Make Your Own Neural Network" by Tariq Rashid. It is a brilliant introduction to artificial intelligence and programming, and you will actually learn and create something exciting and useful.Note: This book comes in 4 flavours (languages). This book claims to be an overview of artificial intelligence, besides it’s an overview of machine learning. Great introduction to some of the fundamental algorithms used in AI programming. I have wanted to better understand artificial intelligence for a long time. This book has opened the door for me. It requires a little mathematical aptitude, but little else, as the author starts with basic concepts and gradually builds on them. I like the examples and illustrations. I would've liked to see more algorithms structured around declarative models of programming, rather than imperative structure, as I feel that declarative models provide an insight that many programmers lack, having been saturated with imperative syntax languages. They helped me digest and build my understanding one step at a time.I have gained a lot of knowledge about Programming and I am very much excited to include and use those things that I have learned in this book. Overall, it is a well written book that I highly recommend for all beginners and to skilled programmers as well. Thanks a lot to the author. Keep up the good work.

I felt cheated by the occasional Sprinkling of tiny innuendoes while giving needless FULL details of scene after scene of a movie (as if we needed an exact and FULL reminder) without connecting the actor with the topic. It appeared to be a needless page filling technique to create additional pages to turn gossip column sized info into a book size to justify the charge. I learned more about the technology and working conditions of that time than the actor’s secret life. Not worth the charge nor the time lost in this author’s clever bait and switch. I don’t usually write reviews this harsh but I wish someone would have so I could have been better informed before I made my purchase. To those of you who are fortunate enough to have read this review... you have been warned.

My main bugaboo comes from the author's amateurish writing style, to say nothing of his disparaging remarks about "Godzilla, King of the Monsters."The author claims the original Japanese version was a low-budget throw-away of a film, when in fact it was the most expensive film ever made by Toho up to that time and is highly-regarded by those who know what they are talking about. The author cannot also cannot understand how Mr. Burr came to admire the film when in fact it is easy to understand why.It is a pity the author did not do proper research rather than rely on misinformation and his own personal prejudices.As for his writing style, it is overly insouciant (with puns for chapter titles) and gives a false impression that somehow he - the author - was on intimate terms with the actor.Therefore, any additional facts considering Mr. Burr must be taken in the context of having been noted by an author who makes at least one critical error, giving the impression that his other "facts" must also be taken into questionable consideration.

Raymond Burr has always been one of my favorite actors. I've seen quite a few of his movies. He always played the bad guy..LOL But my favorite of all is "Perry Mason"!! I just love this program and still watch it any time it's on TV. I must have seen each episode at least 20 times and I never get tired of watching it.Raymond had a very interesting life and I can understand hiding his homosexuality in those early days. For sure it would have ruined his career. Not like it is now where a lot of the celebrites are coming out and pretty open about their personal lives. I knew that Raymond was gay.Today I just returned from visiting the "Raymond Burr Vineyards" in Healdsburg, CA. Since I live in the San Francisco Bay Area it really wasn't that far away. I had a wonderful time there. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to meet Raymond's domestic partner Robert Benivides who is now 84 years old because he was attending a special event in San Francisco. I understand that he is usually at the winery every day. I would have loved meeting him. I loved being there seeing all the photographs of Raymond when he was a young man on the walls plus photos of Robert Benivides when he was very young. Also on shelves were the awards that Raymond won. It was interesting to know that he was a wonderful cook, knew how to raise orchards, make wine. I didn't know that he knew how to do so many different things. I asked Kent the man working there if Barbara Hale (Della) ever visited the winery. I was told that she was now 94 years old and still very sharp and was supposed to visit last November but couldn't make it. I think she has been there in the past when Raymond was still alive. She does speak with Robert Benivides on a regular basis.Getting back to the book, it was very interesting. It explains a lot about Raymond's life. I highly recommend it to any Raymond Burr fan.

This was a sad but also, an inspiring story of an actor with many talents and accomplishments. He did a lot of good improving life for native islanders where he lived and while entertaining our troops at war, putting himself in harm's way. How sad he lived a closeted life in fear of being outed. Having to make up stories to protect himself. If he'd been born later, he would've been free to be himself and accepted in Hollywood. Perhaps he was in a circle of those who kept his secret. I still enjoy hearing his voice in re-runs of "Perry Mason". I enjoyed it as a child and now, as a younger senior citizen.

I'm old enough to remember when "Perry Mason" first aired back in the 50s, and although I've been a fan of Raymond Burr's movies and other television appearances, I knew little about his life. But after reading Michael Seth biography of Burr, even those who thought they did know Burr... really didn't. It's sad that this fine actor and generous man needed to invent a life different from reality... but so he did. But the story of Raymond Burr's life is more than the stories he told. It is the story of an accomplished actor, generous soul, and learned individual. It is a story of a man who loved life and worked hard until the very end, and I recommend this book to anyone who cares to know the real Raymond Burr... or as much of the real Raymond Burr as we can know.

I hoped for a little more information on his work at Pasadena Theater, also different stage performances for example in Toronto, some more about his tours in Australia, more photographic documentation from those performance. Also some more about his visits to Vietnam.He was very private about his personal life and very lovely as a friend and foster dad and charitable person. I miss more on all that.Anyway thank you for bringing him closer to us.

Such a fascinating book. Mr. Burr was a fine actor, but his secrets kept him from becoming an A-list star. I have watched every Mason episode, been creeped out by his mastery of the film noir genre. But nothing can compare with "Rear Window." Scary!

It's not often that once I start reading a new book that I intentionally "go slow" and re-read paragraphs to make sure that I fully understand what's going on. In a sense, it's a strategy to prolong the pleasure of the read. This is one of those rare books. In addition to being one of the few decent Japanese accounts of WWII, the destroyer (and cruiser) commander's observations are noteworthy. He gives insights into tactical and strategic blunders on both sides of the conflict. Moreover, he participated in most of the major engagements of the War (although his role at Midway was very minor), and fills in details about how the Japanese Navy used and misused its assets from the very start. The grinding effect of growing material and technological advantages by the U.S. is clearly delineated, as is his grudging respect for the talents of American sailors as the War progressed. The only "difficult to digest" comments made by Captain Hara are assertions that Japanese actions such as the infamous rape of Nanking were "exaggerated". He retains the blinders that almost all Japanese have worn since the late 1930s concerning the realities of their actions in the Asian theater of War. Despite this, it's a truly fascinating book.

I first read this book back in the late 1960s. As a history major at the time, I had been studying the naval war with Japan for many years and much about it just did not make sense. Why did the Japanese keep on making so many mistakes? There were not stupid, notwithstanding our own propaganda to that effect.After Captain Hara published his book, historians all over the world were jumping up and down. At last they had an inside view of how the Japanese military had been structured, how inflexible it had become, how it was strategically commanded not by naval staff, but by the needs of the Army. They also came to understand how in the early battles, the U.S. naval forces had fared so badly. Much of it was because of Captain Hara's torpedo doctrine and the navy's vastly superior long range oxygen driven torpedo. But the army was so focused on its own problems, it did not prepare for the obsolescence of its own equipment and/or the needs of the navy which it relied upon for so much.The Japanese naval high command was also a mess. It did not rely on battle hardened veterans, but rather stuck with its rigid class system and kept on promoting those who never understood the nature of the enemy they faced or the influence technology would have upon its outcome. That Captain Hara was critical of these commanders can only be seen as a very good thing. Many fine Japanese sailors died needlessly because of their errors. Hopefully, today they have eliminated these problems and will not be fighting the last war when the next one is forced upon them.I have recommended this book many times to young people who have shown an interest in the naval war in the Pacific. It is simply the best book to come out of the war, and notwithstanding the many fine military folks who disagree with me, preferring a more patriotic view, it reveals our enemy of the time in fine detail and tells a story of that conflict no one on our side could match. No study of the naval war could be complete without a thorough understanding of Captain Hara's great adventures. If he made mistakes in his depiction of various battles and/or facts, as some here have claimed, those mistakes have been matched many times over by our own battle observers and writers. Once a century there is a great naval war. Somewhere ahead in the 21st Century one lies in ambush. While Trafalgar, Tsushima Straits, and Midway capture the headlines, the deeper truth of victory lies in the battle of attrition that is fought by the patrol craft, frigates and destroyers on either side. Capt Hara has done a great service to all professional Navy men is dissecting why Japan lost the naval war with the United States in World War II. In the early days, Japan had the better destroyers and the tactical edge. Theirs were faster and with the Long Lance torpedo put their ships outside the reach of US naval gunfire. They won most of the early engagements at the tactical level because of this and their practice of perfecting it in night engagements. As Capt Hara points out so starkly, they lost because of three factors.>First, the Americans achieved tactical parity within a year but at a high price in Iron Bottom Sound. They discovered and corrected the problem with their own torpedoes failure to explode on impact at the high price of battle losses. They rapidly mastered the intricacies of night fighting. More importantly, they became better at combined arms, meaning their use of ships, planes, information, reconnaissance and surveillance started jelling together in a boxer's combination of footwork, body blows and one-two-three punches to defeat their enemy over time rather than seeking one knock out punch.>Second, on the operational level, the Japanese navy failed to commit a sufficient naval mass, which they had at hand, to crush the American's at Guadalcanal. The Japanese High Command was focused on China and Southeast Asia leaving the backdoor open in what Churchill may have called the "soft underbelly" of the Solomon, Marshall and Caroline Islands. Caution: I wouldn't use that term to a sailor, soldier or marine who fought their way up to the Philippines, Iwo Jima, or Okinawa.>Third, while trite today to say this, Japan had not the industrial strength or stamina to out produce the United States. Its losses were permanent. They put too much steel into super battleships like Yamato and could not produce the massive amounts of ammunition for them or their other ships that the United States commanders could use without a second thought of running out of shells. The famous quote attributed to Admiral Yamamoto's after the attack on Peril Harbor came true: "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with terrible resolve." A great part of the hobbling of Japan's industrial strength goes to the Navy's strategic decision to commit its submarine force to the destruction of Japan's merchant fleet of ore and oil carriers. One can only wonder in today's era of super containerships and extra large oilers what a short, high intensity submarine campaign could do to cave in the American consumers will to win a war among titan nations.>For the amateur and the professional alike, Capt. Hara makes it abundantly clear that defeat at the tactical and operational levels rested at the highest strategic command levels. Actually, Capt Hara is very pointed that only one man, Chief of Naval General Staff, was responsible for all the major command decisions of how the fleet would be deployed. The American's on the other hand praise the decisions of Adm Nimitz and Adm King, our top two flag officers during the war. The book leaves one to wonder: How do we decide who should make our strategic decisions? Should the makeup of the man, or now a day's possibly the woman, be the deciding factor or should the decision making process be the focus of concern? Probably both. A Navy is an expensive investment, just ask the Russians. Losing a naval war is not an option. Just read Capt Hara for proof of that.

I have a paperback copy I purchased in the 1960s that is almost worn to tatters. I was delighted to find it for Kindle to add to my digital library.The story is a very informative, and engrossing account of a Japanese Captain, and his life in the Imperial Navy. I have many books about the UIS Navy in the Pacific War, but this in one of only a few showing the "other side". In recent years a few others have been translated into English and made available to broaden my understanding of the events of my father's time.

I like this book for a number of reasons that are good to me. This is a well written history of Ingram and his associates as they developed various types of firearms and related products with photos and drawings to show what is been written about. Outlined in this story are the good business decisions and the bad ones, how the market for full tilt real assault weapons (1100 rounds per minute) was misjudged, and the projected money didn't appear as expected. I had the impression for years that the main MAC 10/11 guns were poor performers, but this book shows the report from British SBS telling how they tested the MAC 10/45 and found it to be a weapon of choice and even recommended that the British MoD buy the gun for the SBS to replace the British Sterling machine gun. As for the quality of the book, its great. If the history of the man and his guns interests you, this is the book to have. If your looking for working plans/blueprints those are all over the web, but not in this book this one is history.

Being an artist, engineer, designer, draftsman and having a deep interest in firearms since I was 5 years old, I feel that this book captures the essence of this little gun and catalogs the entire history of Gordon Ingram's masterpiece.This book highlights the checkered path on which Ingram's designs ventured making it very obvious that he - like a few other firearms designers - were not part of the so-called 'Ordnance Ring' (not mentioned in the book) and that he fell foul from nearly every single law, government and agency ever devised by mankind.It was painful to read just how many times Ingram's MAC production was stymied by design, production, sales and management change-overs.I have had the opportunity to handle various MACs in various firearms museums and remain fascinated by its simplicity and raw abundance of firepower.I reiterate that I rate this book very highly indeed and hope that a reprint will include more drawing cross -sections.I contacted the Publishers, Chipotle Publishing LLC enquiring how I could obtain the signatures of both authors, Frank Iannamico, Don Thomas and Ingram's daughter, Michelle Ingram- DeLong, who designed the superb front cover.It was disappointing that Chipotle never bothered to reply."The Mac Man' is required reading!

The Mac Man is a very detailed look at the world of Gordon Ingram and his creations. As others have noted, he worked hard and others seemed to have profited from his efforts. The world of a gun inventor is not an easy one. I'm particularly impressed with the amount of detail Frank Iannamico has researched regarding the sales history and the changing fortunes of the various companies involved in producing Mac's.I gained a great appreciation for Gordon Ingram, and the struggles he had trying to make it as a firearms designer.Five stars. Well written and well produced.

This book it not only Gordon Ingram biography, but gives a very good description off all entrepreneurs activities involved in the gun design, manufacturing and commercial activities during the cold war era. The gun is widely ilustrated and tells the story of Ingram guns and sound suppresors, specially the models 10 and 11. It is an excellent book that must be in every gun library.

This is the best book I have ever seen on this particular small arms designer. If you are anything like me and love minute details of an influential person's life, then you will love this book. A must have book for any well-rounded personal library on the subject of small arms. Great pictures and wonderful detail on every page.

A great history of the "MAC" guns. There is a lot to the story and this book seems to have it all. I enjoy the story telling and the technical details. If you own a M10 / M11 /M11A1 etc. you'll love this book.

I bought the book based on only one review, but was a bit disappointed. It did indeed list all relevant code, and referenced it for further study, but the codes themselves are hardly self-explanatory. Except for some introductory comments, there was very little in the way of further explanation on the topics in this book.I was looking for some interpretation, examples, what is typically done in the real world to meet requirements, etc.It's a good reference book, but just a starting point in understanding what is necessary to satisfy the FDA in medical device manufacturing. Buy it used if possible, you won't be using it much except for reference.

This is a great book, but purchase the newer version......this book is the bible for any supplier auditor! Gives you an interpretation of the standard which is always helpful. I recommend this book to any one who audits tot eh FDA CFR 820.

Engr. manager for a large medical device company.After spending 2.5 days with an FDA auditor, I realized that I did not know what was expected by the regulatory body in terms of process validations, equipment installation and maintenance and all of the record-keeping and documentation that is required for them.To learn all of that quickly, I purchased and studied this book. For each subject (process validations, equipment, calibration and all other areas), it lists the FDA regulation, the corresponding ISO regulation and then has an "FDA guidance" section that breaks down both into plainer English. It was helpful to have all of the information in one place.The frustrating part with the FDA is that they won't tell you exactly how to do things, they'll just lay out the rules and you have to figure out how to get there from here. This book is good at laying out all of the rules.I would recommend this book to any level person who may have to answer to an auditor. There are sections on Design Control, Nonconforming Production, Labeling and Packaging, Statistical Techniques and more that apply to each area of the business.
