This book is a great look into the future of sales and how artificial intelligence will have an increasing impact. DJ Sebastian reviews the current state of intersection between traditional sales and AI then provides a clear view of the future. There are many examples of how AI is helping and possibly replacing sales functions, which are very easy to understand and relate to.There a bits of humor that make the book quite enjoyable to read, sometimes you forget you are learning a lot. I expect that this will help save some sales careers while giving future sales staff a leg up on their competition who won't read this wonderful resource.Kudos to DJ for the great effort and I will be on the lookout for more insight from him in the future.
I've worked in the field of Artificial Intelligence for 35 years as a research scientist and consultant, and consequently I'm often skeptical of books that try to predict the future trends in AI. I read DJ Sebastian's book on the recommendation of a friend and halfway through the first chapter I knew I was in for a great read. I found DJ's assessment of the impact of AI on future jobs to be spot on.The book communicates a sense of urgency without hype, and accurately lays out specific areas of sales that are likely to be automated in the next few years. This is a meaty book with a great deal of substance, and I found it to be well-researched. The chapter summaries at the end of each chapter reiterate the key points, and the glossary at the end of the book is a helpful touch.I haven't worked directly in sales but I've worked with many sales colleagues over the years, and I found DJ's stories to be accurate and authentic. Throughout the book I felt a strong connection to the author's messages -- I probably highlighted thirty or forty key points in the first six chapters alone.Part 2 of the book conveys advice on how to survive and prosper in a sales role, both for new and seasoned sales professionals. The recommendations clearly reflect the author's 20+ years of sales experience, and I think this section would be valuable reading for any sales professional, regardless of their interest or awareness in AI. All in all, I found this book to be a rich, well-structured, and well-researched collection of solid sales wisdom.
As emphasized in this book, it is important for sales professionals to be extremely knowledgeable about how their solutions will improve their customers business. Equally as important is creating a powerful message and communicating it clearly so the customer fully understands how they will benefit. New technologies such as artificial intelligence pose a threat to sales professionals and will require that they build strong relationships with customers. This requires serving as a supportive, proactive advocate for the customer, as well as engaging with related business partners. This book is an informative resource for all sales professionals and those who heed the methods explained in this book can become the most successful in their trade.
With technology moving so quickly, traditional sales skills are transforming (and in some cases being made obsolete). The author does a very nice job outlining the new skills needed in today's world and how AI can make the salesperson more efficient. Equally as important, there are some skills that are timeless and should be woven in. Great real world examples trickled throughout as well. This book doubles as a A-Z reader and a reference guide based on the topic. Give is a read...you won't be disappointed!
The author does a great job of outlining the risks and opportunities that sales professionals face due to changes in technology. Sales has been a face to face job historically, but with the growth of AI/Machine Learning over the past decade, people who aren't using technology effectively to help them sell won't have a place any longer.If you are in a technical sales or relationship sales position, read this book to get new perspective on what you do and how you can change. The examples from the author's past are great too, and make this an approachable read. Highly recommend.
Loved the way the author explained technology and particularly newer artificial intelligence methods in a manner for the not so technically inclined to easily understand. As a sales executive, he convinced me that embracing the tools to assist, versus, dreading the work involved, would free up more of my time in the long run. Allowing me to spend much more face time with my clients.

This book is perfect for young people just entering the profession. Or the people who have been in the field for some time, that need or want to reinvent themselves. I've read several books on sales throughout the years and this one is by far the most well thought out and presented book I've come across. DJ Sebastian clearly has the a history of sales and did a great job translating that experience into The Selling Revolution. I highly recommend this one...definitely worth the read!
