The premise of this book sounded fun and I could imagine great stories from a devilishly incorrigible child raised in a home with a father who is a priest. There was so much potentiaal, and some of the stories are, in fact, humorous. I am just not cool enough to understand the dialogue of the author who is always overly dramatic, uses oblique references and wants to shock you at every turn with her attempt to be the complete opposite of her religious parents. Coupled with her "way too hip" references on all things from Twitter rants to a whole chapter devoted to semen stains on a hotel bed, I just could not finish this book. I am far from prude and initially laughed at her mother's response to the stains on the bed, but after about 200 slang references to the "fluid" I just could not read/listen further. I also pride myself on trying to stay relevant to the younger generatiion's terms and references, but she just goes way too far to shock the reader. I get it, it is her attempt to be cool and hip, and in reality I believe it is her personality to be the shocking and diabolically rebellious child of her religious parents. In her defense, half of what grated on me was the narration in the audiobook version which I believe was read by the author and completely over-acted with grating and unbelieveably over done voices! Could have been a really good book, but there were just too many obscure references for me to finish the book.

This book had me alternately in stitches and poignantly moved by the author's life with her aloof, guitar-playing, bombastic, slovenly, congregation-caring, Catholic priest of a father and her OCD, warm, hilarious, nurturing, charismatic mother, and her outraged, sensitive husband and her scarred siblings who somehow survived a pretty oppressive upbringing with the saving grace of humor and their mother's unconditional love. Lockwood had me laughing out loud for extended periods with her astute observations described so accurately and poetically that one could see, taste, smell or hear the scene just as she did. A cautionary tale by a talented writer that painfully reveals why this priest should not have also been a parent. However, her mother was a saint! Loved this book!

Very much enjoyed the first half of the book as there were ,any laugh out loud moment. The second half of the book bordered on tedious. The fact the writer is a poet became obvious. The text became wordy and over flowery to the point it was hard to follow.

The sentences are like great big treats to wrap your head around. The book is also flat-out funny. Ms. Lockwood finds a unique way to say anything, but what is more gripping is her story: she runs away with a fellow lover of poetry and this man becomes her husband. They move back in with her Father, the all-consuming cheddar-devouring "Homey don't play that," lead of the book. Patricia never attends a dull MFA, never moves to a cool, hipster city, and still her poems are picked from a Newyorker slush pile because they are that damned good. Better still: the way she sees the world, colored by this early Catholic lens that animates her now secular readings of culture which are filled with all her father's bombast. Then there are sweet, touching moments, like her relaying of the life of a calm church handyman who endured much. I loved this book.

Listening to this audio book was like sipping on a soul-soothing, bottomless vanilla latte in front of a fire with nothing to do but be entertained. Lockwood's writing is one poetic sentence after another, metaphor after metaphor, strung together with magnificent style, superbly manifesting colorful characters by letting us in to "hear" their language and observe their actions through her eyes - all the while knowing that her view is as skewed and filtered as any flawed human being is. i LOVED this book and am planning on listening to it again. i highly recommend the audiobook!

As someone who grew up in a religious family, and as a seminary graduate who was in the ministry for five years, I found this book to be a great read. It is humorous but never mean-spirited, and offers illuminating thoughts for anyone who is interested in what life is like for those who grow up in a minister's family. This is not a "religious" book. Rather it is a thoughtful rumination on institutional religion and how it is perceived by those within and outside of that circle. It is a highly entertaining reflection on familial and marital relationships within the context of growing up in the often times wacky ecclesiastical world.

I am not a poet or especially into poetry, so perhaps am not the best reader of this careening, caroming and often overwritten and overwrought memoir of growing up with very odd parents in a particularly odd setting—Catholic rectories and a sort of Catholic world. It is quite funny and jammed with strange anecdotes and I get why it delighted the critics.

Someone recommended to me and said this book was hilarious. I guess it is just not my type of humor. I stopped reading, I found it not that interesting or compelling.

This is HYSTERICAL. It's a delightful time capsule. It's like watching public health films from the era when boys all had crew cuts and said, "Golly!" It's from a time when men were men and women were domestic, and carried bridal shower gifts home in a "laundry basket, decorated for the purpose."My favorite part about it has to be the myriad ways in which it makes all modern wedding magazines liars. For instance, this season it's hot to have white bridesmaids' dresses. Editors would have you believe that this used to be a no-no, and that you (and Kate Middleton) are breaking some kind of taboo. Actual quote from this book: "An old-fashioned and charming affectation is to have an all-white wedding." Also included are discussions of how it's totally okay to have no engagement ring or a colored stone. And they tout keeping bridesmaids' dresses "within a reasonable budget." Gasp! This book is charming, well-written, and just fun for an evening of sitting and reading. I don't know how seriously anyone could take it, but it is a wonderful window into the past.

This book is very informative! It has a lot of history on traditions of all types of weddings around the world-- not just typical American Weddings. Totally worth buying.

I found this book helpful and interesting. Not the first book I go to with a wedding question, but it's the second. Worth having if you plan weddings.

This book was my favorite and I bought about 10. This one was the most complete and helpful in planning and sticky etiquette.

Review

2017 JAMES BEARD FOUNDATION BOOK AWARD NOMINEE: BEVERAGE“Some of the most pleasant hours I’ve ever spent have involved sipping spritzes, nibbling from little bowls of olives or potato chips or whatnot, and watching the life of whatever Italian town I’m in go by as the waiter lazily circles around to see if I’d like another. Spritz is the perfect introduction to that unique culture.”  —David Wondrich, author of Imbibe! and Punch “These brilliantly illustrated pages deliver a supremely approachable account of the spritz while unveiling the deeper meaning of the drink—one that flows far beyond its flirty fizz. Spritz offers a beautifully rendered portrait of an iconic cocktail, an indispensable guide for channeling the spirit of Italian cocktail culture at home, and a drop-dead gorgeous visual experience.” —Katie Parla, co-author of Tasting Rome“The … book is compact (it would live nicely atop a crowded bar cart), beautifully illustrated, and filled with anecdotes and recipes for classic takes as well as more modern iterations from top bartenders.” – Vanity Fair“Talia Baiocchi and Leslie Pariseau's extensively researched history of the cocktail comes with enough spritz spins to make it through every beautiful day of the year, plus recipes for the food to match with them, like mondechili, the country-style meatballs found in northern Italy.” – Saveur“… the authors make an excellent case for the chic, Italian-style cocktail—bubbly, low in alcohol, and with an edge of bitterness, it's ideal for sipping in the golden hour before dinner." – Bloomberg“The beautiful tome explores the history of the classic cocktail and provides 50 different recipes for drinks and snacks to try at home. Each recipes sits beside a full color photograph and elegantly chosen typography.” – Mental Floss"Talia Baiocchi and Leslie Pariseau ’s “Spritz: Italy’s Most Iconic Aperitivo Cocktail, With Recipes” is a compact volume that touches deftly on drink history and throws in a dash of travelogue. What a wonderful collection of apparativos! The book of the summer has lead me to a collect and try as many as is humanly possible. See what a delicious collection the authors have lead me to create! Almost all of the drinks are easily made (with a few hard-to-find ingredients notwithstanding), incredibly tasty, very low alcohol and fairly low calorie - they pack a refreshing punch at lunch and through the afternoon and evening. My favorite uses one of the oldest (possibly, the oldest) apparativo Salers - made with Gentian root, it is outstanding when pared with cucumber, salt, white vermouth, lime, and soda/seltzer. Only 3/4 oz of Salers and 3/4 oz of vermouth make for a delicious adult refresher on a hot day.

I am not much of a drinker, in all honesty. For me, a nice cocktail is more theory than reality. I like a drink that is not sweet, not high alcohol, a bit fruity, a bit celebratory, even on an ordinary day. Spritzes totally fill the bill, and this book really delivers on drinks that are light, refreshing, unique, and interesting. My favorite thus far is the Taracco Spritz, which has become our spring house drink. Cheers!

This is a great, compact, well-designed book. In addition to cocktails there are a bunch of recipes for Italian aperitivos (little bar snacks, similar to tapas). Just got this book the other day, but I've already gone to the liquor store so I can try some of the more interesting cocktail recipes. Also really like how the book describes the spritz/aperitif sub-cultures of northern Italy. If/when I make it back I'm definitely using this book as a guideLooking forward to warmer weather so I can throw a spritz-inspired party.

This is the cutest coffee table book. My signature drink at my wedding was an Aperol Spritz so when I saw this book at Antropologie, I knew I needed it for my new apartment. I checked Amazon and the price here was way better than Anthropologie's (no surprise there).Aesthetically, the book's quality is way better than I expected. The cover has a cool matte vintage-like texture, as do the pages, which are very thick and sturdy. The photos are absolutely gorgeous- they're art-print quality and I would pull them out and frame them if I didn't love the book itself so much. There is also a cool mix of mid century modern style illustrations in a warm, somewhat masculine palette of colors. The writing is simple and the stories interesting. The recipes are the perfect mix of classic, modern, and DIY. It may not be a book I turn to often for recipes except occasionally in advance of a dinner party, but it's one I'm so happy to have in my collection and love leafing through when I notice it on my side table.

It would’ve been nice to get some more history or at least some better explanations of the flavor profiles on each amaro used. The kindle version isn’t great at all. Each recipe is in two different places for some reason. Over all a d cent read to get some recipe ideas, but we all know that’s easy to get online. Wished for more substance.

Great book - very informative and enjoyable. I only wish that we could get all the fantastic liquors that are mentioned in the recipes. They aren't all available in MA that I've been able to find.

I'm a fan of the Aperol Spritz and am happy to have this engaging history of the drink as well as so many new inventive recipes for variations on the spritz theme, as well as a few aperitivo food recipes to go along with it.

Fun to read, fun to make...all recipes are easy to understand although I maybe not be able to get the same booze for some of them, but heck, I improvise....no problem.

First, for the basics. This book was actually written in 2006, not 2007. You figure if it was printed in September 2006 that it was researched and written and edited in the early months of 2006. With the rapid pace of change going on in New Orleans right now, they really should have labelled this a 2006 book. For example, when talking about the Aquarium of the Americas, they say it "is slated to reopen by the summer of 2006". They didn't visit it after opening to report on this key attraction for a book titled 2007?However, on the up side, this WAS written relatively recently, and after the Katrina hit of August 2005. So even though it was only a few months after that disaster, and much has changed since early 2006, it at least was AFTER the Katrina storm went through. Many other guide books are still pre-Katrina.The Fodor's book isn't nearly as "pretty" as some of the other New Orleans books out there. There are pretty much no photographs or pictures of items. You have to imagine what different types of iron work look like, or what a type of architecture would look like. The maps are extremely plain and sometimes hard to follow.About half the book isn't about New Orleans - it is about the surrounding area, movies, the index, pages for writing notes, and so on. The parts that are about New Orleans are laid out very poorly. For example, let's say you're getting a hotel in the French Quarter and want to explore what your options are. Other books have one area on the French Quarter where you can examine the shopping, restaurants, maps, bars and so on. In Fodor's book you have to jump to one area to look at the restaurants, an entirely different area to see the shops, and it gets very complicated. The book pegs the prime touristy spots - like Brennan's with their bananas foster, or Cafe du Monde with their beignets. However, some of the best gems of restaurants and shops we found on our visit there in April 2007 weren't in the book at all. They weren't recently opened, either. It seems that the book promotes the top tourist locations, but doesn't find the 'great unknown locations' that I would normally expect from a well written travel guide. Also, it's hard for me to really trust in a book where each entry seems to read like a glowing press release. Surely not every single location they choose to list in the book is the best in its class? I think the only negative comment I found in the book was along the lines of "avoid airplane seats across from the bathroom".I don't mean to say this book is awful. It does point out many interesting historical points about locations. The touristy spots it features are of course touristy for a reason - they are mentioned in books or movies, they were the launching point for a famous drink or food, they have gorgeous architecture. What the book provides is well written and the things it mentions as features for the locations are very interesting to go and see.I would just temper the book with the knowledge that it's more of an overview of the area than an in depth local's insight. Certainly pick up this book for the general popular spots, but I'd grab another book or two to get the great photos, great maps and details on the restaurants and shops that are off the beaten path.

When I got an unexpected mini-vacation, we quickly settled on New Orleans. I searched half a dozen guide books and settled on this one, the only one up to date with post-Katrina. I had also gotten the DK Eyewitness guide, which was pretty much useless since it was all pre-K.This book was the best purchase. I believe several updated books will be coming out in the next month or two, but this was my only choice and I was worried how accurate it would be. I didn't have any regrets. The book does an excellent job of painting the post-K New Orleans scene. It wasn't a paragraph or two injected in, they actually re-wrote the book. And very accurately (which is hard to do for a city under renovations). I was prepared, for example, when I encountered places that couldn't take credit cards. The book had warned me of that.Since I only had a couple of days, I was able to lay out where we were going to go and what to do. I left N.O. feeling like I did what I wanted (and of course have a list of things to do NEXT time.)For the curious, yes you can still see the signs of destruction. And the signs of renewal. If you're longing for the old style New Orleans, stick to the French Quarter. Almost everything there is back up and running, even if the tourism rates are not. If you've ever been curious about N.O. but was reluctant due to the crowds and rowdyness...go now. The night life is still there (that never really died) and there's a place for everyone from Burbon Street's all out hedonism to the side bars who barely fit 10 stools and offer up a quiet place to sit and talk and laugh.Definitely no regrets about this book, or going to New Orleans. If you ever get the chance, GO GO GO. They need your tourism money to rebuild, and you can really get some bargain deals on everything down there. Tip everyone as well as you can, because if they were't there doing their job...you can't be there to enjoy yourself.

The book's organization was not as user-friendly as other tour books, but the driving tour to survey the Katrina aftermath was easy to follow and worthwhile.

This book has beautiful illustrations of some of our most well-known friends in heaven. The author added a lovely saint quote for each. The quotes mean much to myself, but I felt the wording was at a level where children (particularly pre-school and first grade), do not grasp the vocabulary used. I had to paraphrase many of the quotes to my first grader (and saints are not a new concept to her). I had purchased the book to add to our collection for the Feast of All Saints.

I just got this for my 2.75-year-old. He loved it. It's simple and sweet, and I loved the saints' quotes and the artist's use of color. It's a perfect "first book of saints."

I ordered this for a baby, and, while I like the book, the baby does not. The pages on the inside are a lot of text (specifically quotes from the Saints); text isn’t usually a bad thing, but it’s not exactly engaging for very small children. I’ve been using it as a teaching tool for my older kids, and they seem to get more use out of it, so although it’s not being read as intended, it’s still a useful book.

Beautiful sort of minimal illustrations, excellent quotes. Very different from a typical cheesy/educational saint book. Got this as a gift for a one year old and wanted to keep it myself! It’s his favorite mass book and his parents love it.

I love this book! The saints are some that my family already has a connection to, so we had such fun identifying them as we read through. The illustrations are gorgeous--simple, but thoughtful--and the quotes are helpful for parent and child alike to reflect on. I appreciate the quotes not being in toned-down child's language, because it opens the way for conversation. Highly recommend.

What a beautiful book to share with my little boy! As a Catholic family, we love having as many faith inspired books as we can to be able to teach him about the faith. This book is a beautiful way to share Saint quotes and teach our son about each of the saints. Because we loved the book so much, we have actually ordered 3 and gave them all away as gifts! So, we will be ordering one for our own child very soon! Thank you for sharing this book with all of us, it's beautiful!

I love this board book. It fits well in my purse to come with us to mass, often with one of the Shining Light Dolls that I match up with these saints. Some books in this drama have images that are so cartoonish they are creepy, but these illustrations are lovely and attractive to children.

Cute book for little ones. Each page has picture of a saint and a quote from each- all famous quotes I’ve heard before and love. The quotes require explaining to the kids as to what they mean.

Star Wars: Lost Tribe of the Sith - The Collected Stories (Star Wars: Lost Tribe of the Sith - Legends), by John Jackson Miller

From the Author

The Fate of the Jedi novels introduce readers to a hidden Sith society, living apart from the rest of the galaxy for five thousand years. But how did they come to be? Lost Tribe of the Sith answers that question. Spanning millennia, this series of short stories introduces the original unlikely castaways -- and shows how their society was shaped. Lost Tribe of the Sith - The Collected Stories includes the original eight short stories, plus Pandemonium, and all-new novella -- and, for the first time, maps of the world the Sith are stranded on. The chronicles of the Lost Tribe continue in a new comics series from Dark Horse -- but they all begin here!

I went into this book not expecting much of anything, not hearing anything good or bad one way or the other and I came out the other end absolutely loving it!This book is a must read for any fan of Legends or Star Wars books in general, taking place thousands of years before the films and even the KOTOR games, these collected short stories (that all link together) follow a group of Sith who have crash landed on a planet filled with natives. The Sith do what they do best and the story goes on from there. There is a few stories that take place with the same characters but then the timeline jumps forward giving you fresh new characters and a changing world.I was not expecting to love the characters and mythology that Miller created as much as I do. It feels alive and just as Star Wars as anything else you love.If you like stories that take place in the Old Republic you'll love this, if you love the Sith you'll love this, if you love good Star Wars you'll love this!Trust me you've got to read this sooner than later! (I read it in less than a week, you won't get bored!)

This is an excellent collection of stories regarding the Lost Tribe of the Sith. Each tale focuses on a key event in the history of the tribe. Since these are Sith, there is plenty of treachery, deceit, killing and the never ending quest for power. Interesting characters and a great insight into Sith psychology make this a great read. The last story is rather chilling, particularly how the Sith learn to "assist" in a different way. A must read for Star Wars fans interested in the history of the Sith.

I enjoyed this "series" much more than the Fate of the Jedi series it leads up to. John Jackson Miller manages to create a compelling history for the planet Kesh. While it does not achieve the complexity, subtlety, and scale of Tolkien's Middle Earth, it is still impressive considering the majority of the story is told through a single volume of short stories (if you don't include the five issue comic series, which I haven't read). It was interesting to see how a colony of Sith cope with crash landing on a planet with no hope of escape. In this scenario my gut reaction would be that things are not going to end well, with various factions forming to destroy each other, infighting, and power grabs. While this does happen frequently throughout the history Miller has created, there are occasionally leaders that exhibit one of the Sith's most under underrated attributes, the ability to plan for the long game.

John Jackson Miller writes a most compelling and enjoyable Star Wars story for the everyday fan. This was a lite and brisk read broken down into small vignettes which focused on different aspects of the world he creates. A departure for most die hard Star Wars fans, it allows the casual reader to jump in with little to no background knowledge. This isn't to say that those who grew up with the Expanded Universe will be disappointed. On the contrary, Miller's writing is so crisp that it can suck all into its descriptive cinescapes. This lovely departure is filled with unique landscapes, well thought out technology and a cast of characters that are easy to make your own. This might be off the beaten Star Wars path, but it's a wonderful journey to take.

For the past few years, the Star Wars Expanded Universe was largely focused on a series of novels collectively called "Fate of the Jedi". One of the major antagonist groups of the story was the so-called "Lost Tribe of the Sith", which pretty much came out of nowhere, spawning the rather memorable Vestara Khai. It also introduced a compelling back story for the Lost Tribe, which was only marginally explored in those novels.Concurrent with the main novels, however, a series of short stories were released (for free, no less) as e-books. Knowing that they would eventually be gathered into one collection, I waited for that to happen. Sure enough, here it is, and perhaps equally as predictable, the collection comes with a novella that brings the sprawling narrative to a firm conclusion. (Notice that the novella wasn't free, only the stories leading up to it; the novella is only available in the collection!)The nature of the collection is such that some of the stories interconnect directly, one after the other, but it covers a period of 2000 years or so before all is said and done. In essence, it is the long process of the arrival of the human Sith to Kesh, their early struggles with non-human fellow Sith and native Keshari, and ultimately their path to survival. (It also leads into the recently started "Lost Tribe of the Sith" comic series from Dark Horse.)By its very nature, the collection is rather narrow in terms of audience. If you didn't read a word of "Fate of the Jedi", and no practically nothing of the much older comics continuity of roughly the same period, a lot of the references and context will mean nothing. There is some basic arc structure to the collection, tying it all together, but I'm not sure it's enough to make this a must-read for the casually initiated. For my own part, the Lost Tribe has represented one of the few opportunities for those working on the Star Wars Expanded Universe to provide the Sith with a reasonable philosophical underpinning for their vision of galactic society. Various books have delved into the struggle to balance Jedi righteousness with a free government, but the Sith (their equal but opposite) has rarely been anything more than monolithically evil and self-serving.To some degree, this book does touch on the notion that the Sith themselves run into the problem of what happens when an entire society builds itself on the notion of individual hunger for power and control. In short, society breaks down in such a situation, unless there is something for that society to strive for as a unit. Looking at this notion from a historical standpoint in the real world, there's some truth to it.But it still retains the primary problem: the Sith remain two-dimensional villains. They don't pursue self-interest logically (a philosophy that recognizes that serving one's own interests means attending to those of society in a rational, balanced fashion), but rather, by constantly trying to screw each other over. It reminds me very much of the depiction of Slytherins in "Harry Potter" or Republicans in just about any Aaron Sorkin production; while there is lip service to the existence of well-balanced individuals in those groups, all too often, it descends into a skewed stereotype.Still, this is not entirely the fault of the author, since this all derives from Lucas' original inability to portray the Sith as anything but melodramatic villains of unimaginable evil. It's not as if Anakin was lured to the Dark Side by persuasive argument! For what it is, the book delivers exactly what one would expect, and provides some solid short stories in the process.

This is amazing book! At first pages you don't understand nothing and you felt disorientate for the period of time, but as you go on the book becomes like water in the dry savannah, you just can't leave it. The adventures of the Lost tribes are interesting and very mysterious just like whole Star Wars universe. This book is totally worth for money and later I'll read it again!

Interesting story about an isolated Sith 'tribe' with more primitive technology. The plot was interesting enough to keep me hooked to the end, but the atmosphere and stylistic feel of the book was so different from many other Star Wars novels that I didn't find it 5 star amazing.

Don't trust a man who gives this less than 5 stars. He's probably the police.

TLDR: Funny and entertaining. Simple choice to pick up for you or a friend with its low price point.I have had this pre-ordered for months, and after a long wait it is everything I wanted and more.First off, this is an insane amount of entertainment for the price. It is filled with witty comments and real historical context. It has more than 200 pages of content that everyone can enjoy. Even Floyd Mayweather can have fun because the illustrations by Arturo Torres are incredible. See page 158 for an incredible version of 50 Cent as The Thing or Lil Wayne as a goblin on page 188.Shea's writing style is an easy read and is an entertaining "controlled chaos" with the use of footnotes to bring laughs is right out of the Bill Simmons playbook. It reads like a well-informed humorous and persuasive rant. Can't wait for Serrano's next project.

Full disclosure I didn't actually order this book from Amazon. I got it as a gift. Basically, I had to attend this dinner party with my girlfriend where I was about to meet a group of people I'd never met before. It was important to me to make a good first impression and not be this boring dude with nothing interesting to say. The night before I could barely sleep. When I finally did get to sleep I had the strangest dream. The ghost of Big Pun came out of my closet and into my bedroom. I was like oh my god...you're really him. Big Moon Dog, Big Punisher, Pun...Pun was like "yeah yeah kid and a bunch of other dopey nicknames, forget about that stuff, we don't have much time. I'm here because you're in some kind of a pickle, right? Some big dinner party, and you got nothing to say? Here's what I want you to do, go in there, and talk about hip hop."I said, hey Pun, look man, I don't know the first thing about hip-hop. I'm a real pale blond kid from the suburbs. The Big Pun looked at me and he said something I'll never forget. He said, "Everyone gets a chance to do something great. Most people never take that chance, either they're too scared, or they don't recognize it when it spits on their shoes. Remember when you followed Shea Serrano on twitter the other day? Someone's telling you something kid, if I were you, I'd listen."Then as he headed back towards my closet, he went over to my desk and picked up six rulers. He said, "six rulers...I don't know why, but can I take these?" I told him sure thing, and thanks for the advice. He told me, " Remember kid, there's heroes, and there's legends. Heroes, get remembered, but legends never die." And then he was gone. I woke up the next morning and this book was under my pillow. I spent the whole day reading it. And I crushed that dinner party. They're talking about making it a weekly thing.

This is the 3 Wolf Moon of Yearbooks, only if instead of Wolves, it's got Biggie, Tupac, and the God MC himself, Rakim.Ordinary yearbooks don't have pages and pages of painstakingly hand-drawn illustrations; no, all they've got are crappy snapshots that some wage-slave took on the hottest day of the year, then didn't even bother photoshopping (or airbrushing, 'cuz I'm old school like that).Ordinary yearbooks only let you pick one quote, and most people botch even that with something lame from Led Zeppelin that even the band was too high to figure out. *This* yearbook is packed with quotes, cover-to-cover! And not only that, they're the cream of the crop! Seriously, if anyone in my high school had dropped something as epic as "Fish, which is my favorite dish" as their yearbook quote, I probably could've just skipped college.Ordinary yearbooks are full of photos of your ex-girlfriend or ex-boyfriend...and that's only if you were actually lucky enough to *have* one. *This* yearbook is full of old familiar friends that you're actually happy to read about.Ordinary yearbooks are full of lame-ass notes that your friends scribbled on the last day of school. *This* yearbook is full of the bomb-ass wit and wisdom of Dr. Shea Serrano, PhD (I'm just assuming that he's going to have been awarded multiple honorary doctorates by the time you're reading this).Ordinary yearbooks make you think your past was lame. *This* yearbook is a reminder of how freakin' amazing your past actually was.The insight contained in the pages of this book would be a bargain at any price. Buy it. Buy it now...and then buy it again...because C.R.E.A.M.

Get it for your girl on your anniversary, she deserves it. Get it for your dad/grandpa so he can climb up the dad rankings. Just don't get it for that guy that calls playing basketball "hoops". He's probably the police.
