I like this book for a number of reasons that are good to me. This is a well written history of Ingram and his associates as they developed various types of firearms and related products with photos and drawings to show what is been written about. Outlined in this story are the good business decisions and the bad ones, how the market for full tilt real assault weapons (1100 rounds per minute) was misjudged, and the projected money didn't appear as expected. I had the impression for years that the main MAC 10/11 guns were poor performers, but this book shows the report from British SBS telling how they tested the MAC 10/45 and found it to be a weapon of choice and even recommended that the British MoD buy the gun for the SBS to replace the British Sterling machine gun. As for the quality of the book, its great. If the history of the man and his guns interests you, this is the book to have. If your looking for working plans/blueprints those are all over the web, but not in this book this one is history.

Being an artist, engineer, designer, draftsman and having a deep interest in firearms since I was 5 years old, I feel that this book captures the essence of this little gun and catalogs the entire history of Gordon Ingram's masterpiece.This book highlights the checkered path on which Ingram's designs ventured making it very obvious that he - like a few other firearms designers - were not part of the so-called 'Ordnance Ring' (not mentioned in the book) and that he fell foul from nearly every single law, government and agency ever devised by mankind.It was painful to read just how many times Ingram's MAC production was stymied by design, production, sales and management change-overs.I have had the opportunity to handle various MACs in various firearms museums and remain fascinated by its simplicity and raw abundance of firepower.I reiterate that I rate this book very highly indeed and hope that a reprint will include more drawing cross -sections.I contacted the Publishers, Chipotle Publishing LLC enquiring how I could obtain the signatures of both authors, Frank Iannamico, Don Thomas and Ingram's daughter, Michelle Ingram- DeLong, who designed the superb front cover.It was disappointing that Chipotle never bothered to reply."The Mac Man' is required reading!

The Mac Man is a very detailed look at the world of Gordon Ingram and his creations. As others have noted, he worked hard and others seemed to have profited from his efforts. The world of a gun inventor is not an easy one. I'm particularly impressed with the amount of detail Frank Iannamico has researched regarding the sales history and the changing fortunes of the various companies involved in producing Mac's.I gained a great appreciation for Gordon Ingram, and the struggles he had trying to make it as a firearms designer.Five stars. Well written and well produced.

This book it not only Gordon Ingram biography, but gives a very good description off all entrepreneurs activities involved in the gun design, manufacturing and commercial activities during the cold war era. The gun is widely ilustrated and tells the story of Ingram guns and sound suppresors, specially the models 10 and 11. It is an excellent book that must be in every gun library.

This is the best book I have ever seen on this particular small arms designer. If you are anything like me and love minute details of an influential person's life, then you will love this book. A must have book for any well-rounded personal library on the subject of small arms. Great pictures and wonderful detail on every page.

Great book if you own a Mac. Lots of interesting history and detailed photos.

A great history of the "MAC" guns. There is a lot to the story and this book seems to have it all. I enjoy the story telling and the technical details. If you own a M10 / M11 /M11A1 etc. you'll love this book.

I bought the book based on only one review, but was a bit disappointed. It did indeed list all relevant code, and referenced it for further study, but the codes themselves are hardly self-explanatory. Except for some introductory comments, there was very little in the way of further explanation on the topics in this book.I was looking for some interpretation, examples, what is typically done in the real world to meet requirements, etc.It's a good reference book, but just a starting point in understanding what is necessary to satisfy the FDA in medical device manufacturing. Buy it used if possible, you won't be using it much except for reference.

This is a great book, but purchase the newer version......this book is the bible for any supplier auditor! Gives you an interpretation of the standard which is always helpful. I recommend this book to any one who audits tot eh FDA CFR 820.

Engr. manager for a large medical device company.After spending 2.5 days with an FDA auditor, I realized that I did not know what was expected by the regulatory body in terms of process validations, equipment installation and maintenance and all of the record-keeping and documentation that is required for them.To learn all of that quickly, I purchased and studied this book. For each subject (process validations, equipment, calibration and all other areas), it lists the FDA regulation, the corresponding ISO regulation and then has an "FDA guidance" section that breaks down both into plainer English. It was helpful to have all of the information in one place.The frustrating part with the FDA is that they won't tell you exactly how to do things, they'll just lay out the rules and you have to figure out how to get there from here. This book is good at laying out all of the rules.I would recommend this book to any level person who may have to answer to an auditor. There are sections on Design Control, Nonconforming Production, Labeling and Packaging, Statistical Techniques and more that apply to each area of the business.

I got this for my wife who loves to knit, but she would also like to learn some crocheting. The instructions are clear and my wife had no trouble reading or following them. She didn't become a crocheting master with this guide, but it is a beginners book, and it is good enough for that.

This book has a step-by-step guide in starting your basic stitches and it has pictures, so that you can see if you're doing it correctly. You will discover the different types of yarns. You will also learn how to correctly read a yarn label so you can choose the best yarn for your projects. This book will also help you select the right tools you can use when making your own craft. But as what the author said it's best to start cheap. What I like about this book is that everything I need to know is in this book. It's the best guide in discovering your new skill.

I was getting a little tired of downloading how-to books that talk about doing something, but don’t show readers exactly how to do it. Far too many guides don’t include photos or step-by-step instructions. Thank goodness Crochet for Beginners isn’t one of them.I’m not a beginner at crochet. I’ve been crocheting since the age of ten or so, but I often find that books that are meant for beginners can also be useful for people with plenty of experience. The author starts with the basics, to include the “language” of crochet (abbreviations) and I was surprised that there were a few stitches I’d never heard of. The abbreviations included are definitely extensive. One section deals with a subject I’ve most definitely not mastered yet – Reading Diagrams. I admit this has always been confusing to me and the author has broken the process down beautifully. The crochet hook size and chart is extremely valuable, since they’re broken down into metric, US and UK sizes. In fact, the Materials and Tools Chapter is filled with tons of important information.The diagrams are clear and precise. Even the absolute beginner should have no trouble following the basic crochet stitches detailed in Chapter 3. There are plenty of instructional photos included throughout. There are several super easy projects for the beginner and expert alike. While it’s true you can sit and watch YouTube videos that teach you how to crochet, instructional books like this one can be an invaluable help when learning how to master a new craft. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in crochet!

Rolena Adorno is the Reuben Post Halleck Professor of Spanish and Chair of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Yale University. Her books include The Polemics of Possession in Spanish American Narrative, winner of the Katherine Singer Kovacs Prize from the Modern Language Association; Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca: His Account, His Life, and the Expedition of Pánfilo de Narváez, recipient of awards from the American Historical Association, the Western Historical Association, and the New England Council on Latin American Studies; and Guaman Poma: Writing and Resistance in Colonial Peru. She is a member of the presidentially appointed National Council on the Humanities and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

I generally enjoy Oxford's Very Short Introduction series for various literatures, and have finished the volumes on French, English, Spanish, Italian literatures besides this one on Colonial Latin American literature. Compared with other volumes, this one is less thematic, and organized more neatly according to authors and works. It also defines literature more broadly than the other series, including many works that I would classify as history works such as those by Oviedo, Las Casas, Sahagun, Jose de Acosta, etc. (which I am interested in and enjoy reading about).The reason I didn't give this a 5-star is because of two major gaps I see in the coverage:1) It includes works written in Spanish, some Latin and occasional French work, but it has no mention of any Portuguese-language works.2) In terms of real "literature" works discussed, it jumped from the Latin American Baroque towards the period of late 18th / early 19th century around the cusp of independence movements - thus something like a 100-year gap exists in the account.Given it is a short pocket-book, I am ok with omissions as long as the general gist as to why they are dropped from the account are mentioned. Unfortunately, this book just leave these glaring gaps without any acknowledgement.

I use it as a reference book.

It covers the most important topics in Colonial, Latin American Literature. The paragraph division seems to be a bit arbitrary or done in a rush at certain points. Each chapter might have been organized in a better way.

A thoughtful, fast-paced and surprising introduction to the major figures and issues of Colonial Latin American literature.

Wonderful, concise, yet comparative overview of the subject. I used it in a university undergraduate course and will order it again.
