Frederic S. Mishkin is the Alfred Lerner Professor of Banking and Financial Institutions at the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University. From 1994 to 1997, he was executive vice president and director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and an associate economist of the Federal Open Market Committee of the Federal Reserve System. Professor Mishkin’s research focuses on monetary policy and its impact on financial markets and the aggregate economy. He is the author of more than twenty books, including Macroeconomics: Policy and Practice, Second Edition (Pearson, 2015); The Economics of Money, Banking and Financial Markets, Tenth Edition (Pearson, 2013); Monetary Policy Strategy (MIT Press, 2007); The Next Great Globalization: How Disadvantaged Nations Can Harness Their Financial Systems to Get Rich (Princeton University Press, 2006); Inflation Targeting: Lessons from the International Experience (Princeton University Press, 1999); Money, Interest Rates, and Inflation (Edward Elgar, 1993); and A Rational Expectations Approach to Macroeconometrics: Testing Policy Ineffectiveness and Efficient Markets Models (University of Chicago Press, 1983). He was also a member of the International Advisory Board to the Financial Supervisory Service of South Korea and an adviser to the Institute for Monetary and Economic Research at the Bank of Korea. Professor Mishkin has also served as a senior fellow at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s Center for Banking Research, and as an academic consultant to and member of the Economic Advisory Panel of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. S tanley G. Eakins has notable experience as a financial practitioner, serving as vice president and comptroller at the First National Bank of Fairbanks and as a commercial and real estate loan officer. A founder of the Denali Title and Escrow Agency, a title insurance company in Fairbanks, Alaska, he also ran the operations side of a bank and was the chief finance officer for a multimillion-dollar construction and development company. Professor Eakins received his Ph.D. from Arizona State University. He is the Dean for the College of Business at East Carolina University. His research is focused primarily on the role of institutions in corporate control and how they influence investment practices. He is also interested in integrating multimedia tools into the learning environment and has received grants from East Carolina University in support of this work. The only problem I have is, this book is very focused on Indian financial markets and moreover, the book has a clear warning that it is not legal to sell outside of India, and I do not understand how amazon is allowing to sell the book here in US market! It appears that it could be a waste of money in part since the chapters focus on RBI guidelines and not Fed!

The commentary is usually crap throughout the book. Looking back at all of my undergraduate material, however, I realize this book is the most important. I understand the financial system better than the vast majority of people. I'm going to buy another copy soon.(end the FED)

I was taking an SEC and financial markets class and had no background in the markets at all. I had a required text but it wasn't user friendly and a little over the top with the technical information. I previewed a few books and decided on this one. It was great. It explained everything in terms I could understand (I'm an MBA student) and wasn't painful to read like the other book. Plus the US edition of this books retails for somewhere around $200. I was able to purchase the international edition for about $50-- well worth it.

This book does a good job going over financial institutions and how our free market operates. It can be overwhelming. only buy this for your college class.

This book was fair, but another book, in my opinion, presented the topics more clearly.(Plan Your Estate, by Denis Clifford and Cora Jordan) I read and reread Plan Your Estate (empasizing those areas that were pertinent to my needs). It is said that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but that little knowledge helped me interact with the attorney more readily, and saved time and money.

This book is so helpful if you are having trouble grasping biomechanics. There is a lot more application of biomechanics and discussion of anatomical structures compared to books that draw lines and pivot points solely as a math problem and want you to extrapolate the rest.

Great for clarifying key points of kinesiology. This text is a wonderful supplement to class time. It's not easy to write a text that visual/kinesthetic learners like myself can understand, but the author's have done it. A great purchase.

This book provided a good basic introduction to the concept of kenesiology; it provided explainations with exaples of how kinesiology is applied and basic concepts. However, when it got to the individual musculoskeletal systems it provided mostly good basic functional anatomy, with a little less depth in the application of kinesiology.

What an excellent book. I bought this for DPT school and after reading it, I will definitely be keeping it as a resource for the rest of my career. Highly recommend.

Awesome group of songs written easy enough for my 10 year old to pick up and start playing!

I used to play piano a long time ago. This is a good level to get back into it. Songs sound great when I can play them right.

Good songs, guitar chords are included, easy to play. I like it.

I wouldn't say it's for beginners, I'm 3 months into panio lessons and I'm struggling on this book, maybe in another 3 months I'll be ready for this book.
