Best book I have found for someone interested mainly in sugar and carbohydrate contents of foods. Ideal for diabetics who focus more on sugar and carbs. Wide array of foods listed including eating out. It is a thick book and not ideal for purses; however, it is a great kitchen counter or shelf companion. The book is thick because author has listed so many foods (20k+) for your convenience. It is smaller print so keep this in mind if you wear glasses or you are elderly. I am 61 and wear glasses for reading and have no issues with seeing the print. Good explanation of "net carbs" and "sugar alcohols" plus 1 1/2 instructions on how to use the book. Also, includes "table of equivalent measures" and "abbreviations and symbols". Foods are alphabetically organized in a general category with sub-categories; easy to follow. To make it an easier read for myself, I have located all foods I eat in the book and have drawn a line with a light colored highlighter (like light blue) all the way down the page highlighting the sugars and carbs columns. Hope this helps!

For anyone over 40, the Kindle version of this book is worthless. It's NOT searchable, and I couldn't enlarge the fonts. It's like it took a photo of each page. And photos can be zoomed by pressing in the center of the image and hitting the zoom icon. I have to use the alphabetical table of contents and search page by page.The Kindle Edition needs to be reworked to make it searchable by item, and also the one should be able to control the fonts. Once this is done, people that have already paid for this book, should get an updated copy at no extra cost.She brings up subtracting sugar alcohol, but they're not listed in her food counts.

FOR THOSE LOOKING FOR A BOOK LISTING CARB FACTS....LOOK NO FURTHER. THIS BOOK IS "EXACTLY' WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. IF YOU CAN'T FIND THE PARTICULAR FOOD IN THIS BOOK, CHANCES ARE IT DOESN'T EXIST. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK FOR THOSE WHO ARE WATCHING THEIR BLOOD SUGAR. A MUST HAVE FOR ANY DIABETIC.

As with most such books, it contains a wealth of information but may not be in the best format for finding it.

if you like to know about carbs this is the one book that will definitely help you especially if you take it to the store with you.

It is exactly what I wanted. The diet of counting sugar, carbs and calories works and this book will assist you in keeping a daily log so that you do not exceed your numbers. Since June 16, 2016, I lost a total of 23 pounds. The first twenty of these pounds were lost in 9 weeks.

Exactly what I wanted. I get so exhausted looking at books that has nothing with recipes I don't like or care to make. I just wanted to know exactly what to eat and what to avoid. This book does it for me.
