The first time I read it I was fascinated by the search for the calculation of how long is a "day" in Genesis but in re-reading it, the wonder is not just the constant that brings the time-scales into correspondence, but that over hundreds of years of insight and debate, the rabbinic timescale for a number of the key events in the unfolding of the universe should have been predicted so accurately long before science could corroborate them. The book provides a very deep challenge to anyone who wants to try to dismiss Torah as a man-made mythos.

It is very informative and explains it in detail. Good for the layman. You really need to understand "time dilation" to really understand it ,fully.I enjoyed the .book. Good read.
The author tackles a difficult issue - the synthesis of Big Bag cosmology and Genesis of the Bible. Can he pull it off? Friedmann must have researched to the point of exhaustion (his bibliography shows it) and has come up with quite any accurate timeline that equates two totally opposite perspectives.Skeptics will say that the author simply reverse engineered some mathematics to arrive at his figures. However, it turns out that the code at the basis of this book was conceived of centuries ago - long before the Big Bang timeline even existed. To condemn before investigating is not the modus operandi of an intelligent person.That was the challenge - to read the book with a critical eye to determine whether this was fantasy or a breakthrough.I leave it to readers to make up their own mind, but I can add that Friedmann impressed me, and I'm not easily impressed..Pierre St Clair, author of "Cosmology on Trial" and other books.
This book gives a new perspective on the days of creation; and the author's explanation of the correlation between human time, God's time & creation time is thoughtful and intriguing. As a Christian, I would recommend this book, by a Hebrew scholar, to anyone who finds the seven day creation story a stumbling block to their faith. The reader will discover new ways to explore their own thoughts about the relationship between science and faith.
Daniel Friedmann does an excellent job of both engaging and educating the reader on how the scientific theory of creation is not in conflict with the story of creation found in the Bible. As a person of faith I have often struggled to align my views on creation and this book has given me confidence to believe in the scientific theory however not at the expense of questioning my faith.
This is a must read for every single,solitary Christian Preacher. Freidmann interprets Genesis one in light of three kinds of time described in the Bible; They are God's time, Creation time, and Human time. Then the author - a Jewish scholar - shows mathematically how Genesis one fits perfectly into science and the Biblical description of creation. I'm not saying I believe everything the author writes but it certainly was interesting and only added to what other authors have written; authors like Hugh Ross for example.
Does a wonderful job of using Jewish wisdom literature to explain how God created the world and how the Genesis account can be reconciled to the scientific theory of how the world was formed as well as how old the universe is.
This was a very interesting book, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It was a different take on creation vs. evolution than I had heard before, but it made a lot of sense to me. I love that the author was able to mesh science with what we read in the Bible.
